Jesus' Baptism and Temptation

Description

Matthew

Wesley Welch

3/19/23

King's Church kicks off our journey to the empty tomb with a moment of dichotomy in Jesus' life: his baptism and immediate temptation.

Most of us have had moments where we believe that the highs of our Christian faith should cure us of our battle with sin, or at least ease the struggle. Yet that is not what Christ experienced: one of the greatest moments of God's presence in His life leads directly into intense trial and strife.

Pastor Wesley shares why Jesus' baptism was necessary and how we can triumph over sin and darkness as He did (spoiler: it's God's Word), and how it provides us with insight into the hope that Jesus's early victory over Satan provides to us as we contend for Christ every day.
